The country is burning, our communities are sweltering. It’s only spring. A terrifying summer looms. And yet the Albanese Government is pouring fuel on the fire by giving new approvals to coal and gas corporations.
In Townsville, we know what this means for our reef: warming oceans, increased coral bleaching, and an ongoing extinction crisis. We can’t stand by and watch this happen - we need the Labor Government to take action, and stop approving new fossil fuels.
Join us at The Strand for our final action to wrap up the national week of action to Turn Up the Heat on Labor. We will be holding a coral bleaching visual action: please wear layers of brightly coloured clothing that you can take off, to reveal white clothing underneath.
This is a family-friendly action: bring your friends and family, and of course, your banners and signs.
This action is one of three actions happening across Townsville from 4-12 December. Find the others here.
