Join us for an exhilarating adventure on the shimmering waters of Lake Burley Griffin as we raise our sails and voices for a cause close to our hearts: "No More Fossil Fuel" 🌊⛵️
All part of the important Rise Up! 12 Days of Action.
Whether you're a seasoned sailor or a first-time paddler, all are welcome to take climate action against the stunning backdrop of Lake Burley Griffin. 🚣♂️
Dates: Multiple days, including Thurs 2nd to Sat 4th May, and 9th-11th May (weather permitting).
Main Day: Saturday 4th May - Let's take climate action and lunch together!
- Launching Details: We'll be launching from Lotus Bay Boat Ramp, adjacent to Canberra Yacht Club at 10am each day, ready to embark on a journey of solidarity and environmental advocacy.
On Saturday 4th May, we’ll be launching at 10.00am from both:
- Lotus Bay Boat Ramp, adjacent to Canberra Yacht Club, or
- Menindee Drive (beside The Boathouse)
Action Meeting Point: Join us at lunchtime, Sat 4th May, at Commonwealth Place "The Jetty," located midway between the bridges in front of Capital Hill.
Look for our vibrant signs and T-shirts proudly displaying our climate messages!
What to Bring: Please remember to wear their own protest t-shirts, placards, bring your own kayak or sailboat, sunscreen, hats, and water safety equipment. If you don't have watercraft, please support onshore and take action by joining us on the lawns near The Jetty.
Extra kayaks, other vessels, passengers, or onshore support are all warmly encouraged to join in the fun! Visit Tom sailing on the lake. 🌍💙
