Turn up the Heat on Labor in Geelong

The country is burning, our communities are sweltering. It’s only spring. A terrifying summer looms. And yet the Albanese Government is pouring fuel on the fire by giving new approvals to coal and gas corporations.

That’s why it’s time to Turn Up the Heat on Labor and demonstrate that communities, everywhere, want the Government to pick the side of our safety and futures, not corporate billionaires.

We’re one of a bunch of actions happening across the country as part of the national Turn Up the Heat on Labor Week of Action!

Join us at 92-100 Brougham Street in Geelong outside the Electorate Office of Deputy Prime Minister the Hon Richard Marles MP to voice your concern and Turn Up the Heat on Labor.

In times of crisis, when politicians let us down, community leadership must take its place. We can see hope in the First Nations communities fighting to protect the country from new coal and gas projects. We see it in the global demands from Pacific leaders for no new coal and gas, phase out plans and renewables expansion. We see it in the communities that are banding together to prepare for and look after each other through the bushfire season.

Now we need to all stand together to Turn Up the Heat on Labor and show them that we are building a movement that will outmatch the power of coal and gas corporations. A movement that will take sustained, creative and disruptive action with growing numbers until we get the political leadership we deserve.
